This week ’s Registeel is specially impressive because of one ground : if you catch it before February 6 , it comes with the moveZap Cannon .
Normal Registeels with the standard Lock On , Flash Cannon , and Focus Blast have a Battle Rating norm of 482 and will gain a battle about half the time . But with Zap Cannon , Registeel has a 100 % chance of inflicting a debuff to its opposer ’s Attack stat , giving it a significant boost in performance in both the Great and Ultra Leagues .
Not only is Zap Cannon fantastic at vaporize fishes and clipping wing , but it can also help Registeel contribute down Trevenant and Giratina - Altered Form . Zap Cannon is a substantial upgrade for Registeel , making it perfectly worth catch .
But beyond this move , Registeel , like its rummy siblings , has marvellous bulk . It can outbulk Tropius , Probopass , Diggersby , Lickitung , Dewgong , and Stunfisk , and come in close to beating Azumarill . It also has 11 resistances and only 3 weakness , allow it to be a true tank .

Even without Zap Cannon , Registeel can still do well in the bully and Ultra Leagues with just Flash Cannon and Focus Blast . This combination of move use Flash Cannon as Shield hook , with Focus Blast being the violent death reversal . And Lock On ? Is there to give 10 energy every second .
