Poor Max ca n’t capture a interruption .
It ’s been almost a decade since we ill-treat into Max Caulfield”s shoes , andLife Is unknown : Double Exposurecontinues her level set a few age after the consequence of the original title . After finally get a place for herself at Caledon University as a lensman - in - mansion , Max loses yet another close admirer , who awakens a newfangled bent of power in her . I had a opportunity to play the first two chapters of Life Is unknown threefold Exposure , and here are my thoughts so far .
Not Again
Max Caulfield is no longer the unsure kid from high school ; she ’s far more confident in her acquisition and shows less disinclination to share her thoughts and interact with others . She ’s still in touch with her feeling , and player will persist in take heed her inner thoughts about the smallest detail and clumsy conversations , which is why she ’s been such a relatable fictitious character in the first space .
She ’s friendly , stands up for her friend , and shares the same anxieties we all do . Her voice work , dependable dialogue , and general interactions are truly human , a testament to the believable writing that continues to be a highlighting throughout the series .
Max also has some new friends around campus , but she ’s pretty close to Safi and Moses in special . Safi is the form of friend we all want in our lives , but when tragedy strike and she is found dead after a apparently uneventful evening , Max and the repose of Caledon University are choose over by sorrow .

This is n’t new for Max , and death has followed her around her whole life , but it does n’t injure any less , and I ’m impressed by how well the writer and developer convey that in a single episode .
Oh , and rest assured , the plot adequately contextualizes the events of the first game , and even during the first two episode , you ’ll have enough of Max ’s pre - Caledon past to dip your teeth into .
I ’m sure a circle of die - hard fans of the series are reluctant to see a dear character return , but as someone who deeply revel the original Life is Strange , I think Deck Nine has done a decent job bring Max back to the cutting edge , at least based on the first two chapters .

Double Exposure
Max ca n’t overturn clock time anymore , but , as with every other Life is Strange statute title , we ’re preface to a young tycoon shortly after the main character have a tragedy or life - threatening incident . Instead of reversing metre , Max can now start between different timelines through special room access and interact with grapheme and the world , which are separated by the occurrence of the main event , that is , Safi ’s last .
basically , Safi is still alive in the humanity of the living , and she is n’t in the world of the beat . This creates an interesting gameplay loop , and so far , the developers have done a great chore of pushing players to frequently jump between realities to accumulate information and in effect wangle the environment .
Max has memory access to textual matter , a societal medium feed , and notes that keep change as you tilt between timelines . There is a lot of item here , and only Max and the player know all this supererogatory info about the type . So , while Max ca n’t just countermand time to make the right decision , she can dig into more by interact with essentially an additional written matter of the eccentric .

Apart from start between timelines , Max can watch the other timeline ’s characters in a specific wheel spoke in the current timeline as well .
I think the Double Exposure powers turn quite well for the most part , and some minor bugs , which I ’ll attribute to the prevue build aside , are a fun addition to the serial ’ time and place use powers . It ’s also a gorgeous game to wait at , and the fibre models are exceptionally detailed . I do escape the look of the original , but this retains a destiny of the appeal thanks to the cracking consumption of people of colour and opting for a stylized interpretation alternatively of changing the look totally .
Overall , I think the first two chapters of lifespan Is Strange Double Exposure have localise up another great adventure that will run through my life for the next few workweek , and I ’ll interact with every single part of the surroundings , and fear every major decision I make .
