Get ready for a spooky new colorway for this fantabulous Switch controller .

A while back , NXYI provided me with acontroller toreview called the Wizard . While the accountant itself was in the classical Gamecube style , I found that it brought enough to the table to become my new favorite controller on the market cursorily . The Hall - Effect Joysticks avail preclude gallery , clicky shoulder buttons keep me in the action and always quick for more , and the Greco-Roman Gamecube face button layout made me almost unstoppable in Smash Bros. Ultimate .

However , there was one major downside to the control ; it only came in three semblance . While the Platinum , Black , and Purple options are all reminiscent of my childhood , I ’ve always had a personal favorite that I just could never get my hands on here in the States : the coveted Orange Spice controller that was only release in Japan . gratefully , however , NYXI understand the assignment and has brought this beautiful colorway to my favorite Nintendo Switch comptroller , and I could n’t be glad .

It’s Spooky Season Year Round

I ’m a big fan of Halloween , so the ability to showcase my dear of the season year - round with a controller that pit the spook of a spooky Jack - group O - Lantern is always welcomed here . However , if you ’re anything like me and you amass various controllers for their esthetic and colorations , this may be even more exciting for you than Halloween .

The Orange Spice Gamecube has always been one of the more intemperate - to - find form , specially back in my youth . Pre - Owned Gamecube control still necessitate a reasonable chunk of change , so you ’ll need to fork over your billfold if you ’re hop to get a pre - have version of the Orange Spice controller , which I still have n’t done . So , the fact that NYXI is fetch this colorway back to lifespan for something more innovative and useable is a immense profits in my Word of God and something that bet almost monovular to its apparent divine guidance .

Looking at these controllers side by side , the Orange Spice may be a few shades calorie-free than the NYXI Wizard , but have some variety in your controller colors is always welcome . I may have to start calling this Pumpkin Spice , as it adds a small aliveness to my confessedly otherwise grim and dismal accountant option . I already know I will have to fight my wife ( in Smash or Mario Party ) to keep using this one as my master Switch controller .

Pumpkin Spice > Orange Spice

If you miss my review on theNYXI Wizard , and want to know what rig this comptroller apart from the bunch , there are a few interesting bit including :

Having all of those features , plus the definitive Gamecube controller style ? Sign me right up . The Wizard has been my go - to control for various games , but fighters like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate have been its crowning achievement due to the excellent face buttons and induction . I could gush about this controller for 60 minutes , but I ’ll begin to careen it back in , I promise .

Oh yeah , did I mention that they work expectant as Joycon replacements , as well ? I have n’t touch my Pro Controller since I get my hands on the ash grey Wizard , but my OLED Switch looks utterly stunning with these Orange controller put on the position . Like your received Joy - Cons , you ’ll have two release on the back that you’re able to apply to peel them off of the rails that they add up with , break the controller fundamentally in one-half to be used as Joy - Cons . If you ’ve started get drift in your pet controllers , it may be time to upgrade your plot .
